Mastering Transitional Style

Mastering Transitional Style

Right now we're stuck in that spot where it still feels like summer, but we're excited about fall fashion. Transitional styling can be a challenge, being torn between dressing for the actual season and dressing for the weather. It can also feel hard to justify purchases at the end of a season when there isn't much time to wear it left.

This week, I styled 10 looks for you, showing you how to wear the same garment 2 ways; once for summer and again for fall. We work too damn hard to just wear something once!

When it comes to transitional styling, here are a few tips:

  • It can be as easy as just changing your footwear. Flip flops and sandals are synonymous with summer while flats and sneakers are a perfect alternative for the transitional season and boots are representative of fall and winter.

  • If temperatures are still scorching near you but you want to look toward the next season, bring in some deeper fall tones and textures in your shoes and accessories.

  • Cotton knit sweaters are perfect for a transitional time. They add texture and feel like a fall piece, but are perfect for the weather as they don't add warmth like wool or cashmere does.

And since we're talking about transitioning into fall, I'd like to remind you that this is the last chance to grab your seat for the Style the Season Masterclass at the promo price! After Labor Day, the price goes up to $39! Keep reading for more information!

On Friday, September 12th at Noon EST (on Zoom), I’ll walk you through Fall/Winter’s most exciting runway looks and show you how to make them work for your real life. From the season’s hottest colors to which trends are worth the investment (and which to skip), you’ll leave with clarity, confidence, and even shopping links to make updating your wardrobe simple.

Seats are limited—grab your seat before the price goes up! If you can’t attend live, don’t worry, I’ll send the full recording right after.
