Accessorize to the MAX
Last week we covered trending accessories. This week I want to talk about the trend of maximalist accessorizing. When it comes to wearing accessories, I am not one to shy away from wearing it ALL! In general, Coco Chanel can do no wrong but her famous quote of 'Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off' isn't something that resonates with me.
Maximalism is a trend we saw come to life on the recent runways and I've got a few tips for you to make it feel more manageable for the everyday woman!
1. Look for similar shapes. When layering jewelry, mixing pieces that have similar shapes, for example all round or all angular pieces, will create harmony, not chaos.
2. Don't be afraid to mix metals or mix textures. A beaded necklace and a gold chain is a fun combo! Adding a two-tone piece to your collection is an easy way for it to feel cohesive.
3. Don't overthink it! Accessories give your look personality and help to pull it all together. Add pieces that spark joy and compliment the vibe or color scheme of your look.
4. Create a stack to give your pieces more personality! Stack rings, bracelets and necklaces to give your pieces a one of a kind feel.
If you're reading this and you're a past client, stay tuned for an exciting announcement coming next week! This week I've created 8 looks that maximize accessories! All of the looks have a focus on the accessories, but still feel approachable for the modern woman. Shop the edit here.
