Your Shortcut to Better Boots

Your Shortcut to Better Boots

I'm going to keep this week's blog short and sweet, because at the end of the day, better boots mean better outfits. When it comes to updating your wardrobe, the most important thing to keep in mind is silhouette. This applies to your shoes as well. If your boots look anything like the images below, I am speaking directly to you.

When it comes to shopping for boots, there are a few things to keep in mind:

1. Genuine leather or suede is non-negotiable. With the overall price increases I've been seeing on everything, buying a faux leather boot isn't really saving you any money. I would rather see you get one pair of boots that are a quality material than see you pick up multiple cheap ones. Leather boots won't peel, they will be more comfortable and last you for years.

2. If you're buying one pair of boots and want to get the most wear out of it, purchase a streamlined minimalist pair with an elongated toe (pointed or squared off) in a heel that works for your lifestyle. Something like this will look polished with everything from denim, to trousers to dresses. This is a personal favorite of mine.

 3. If you wear a lot of dresses, invest in a pair of knee high boots. This week's newsletter has great styling examples. Knee high styles can even be worn under wide leg pants.

If you have to ask if your boots are outdated, they probably are. The good news is that I've scoured the depths of the internet to bring you an edit of timeless styles you'll wear on repeat. Shop the fall boot edit here
