The Holidays are for Celebrating
Holiday season is upon us and that means jam packed calendars filled with events to celebrate anything and everything. You might have an annual get together with family to bake cookies, a party with friends to exchange your favorite finds off Amazon, even a party to sip wine and watch classic movies. Whatever the occasion is, you'll need an outfit.
I think the best occasion outfits are the ones you purchase because you love them so much, not because you 'need' them. Clients always ask me how I shop for myself and I tell them that I rarely purchase something new for an event because I always have items ready to go. I shop intentionally for my lifestyle asking myself 'When can I wear this?' to each item that comes into my closet. This is something I do with my clients as well. When you shop for your lifestyle, you're sure to get the most value and use out of your pieces.
Often when I see women shop for an event or a vacation they don't consider their day to day life and items go unworn after that event or vacation. This season, as you're picking up new pieces for the holiday events on your calendar (because I know you will LOL), ask yourself where else you can wear the item. Can you style it with a different shoe to make it work appropriate? Can you pair the top with jeans to make it more casual? Whatever it is, make sure the new pieces you bring into your wardrobe this holiday season have a real home in your closet. New items are always more exciting, but after that initial wear, the luster fades if it's not something that truly aligns with your personal style and lifestyle.
This week you'll see Holiday Parties drop in your Holiday Style Guide! If you're still looking for a Thanksgiving outfit, there are a bunch in here that will also work! Shop the holiday style guide here.
