Modern Sandals and Breezy Looks Inside
This week I received a text from a friend with 3 images of shoes she was looking to purchase. 'Do you know this brand? Thoughts?' Texts like these from my besties are common. I provided my feedback, vetoing one pair and providing feedback on the other two pairs. The text read, 'The first pair are super cute. I'm just ok on the last one. But this is the current vibe for sandals' and proceeded to send a screenshot of the type of sandals that are currently trending.
My friend was mystified! 'Really?!' she replied. The fact is, current styles for sandals have evolved and gotten a refresh. The block heel and braided strap sandal like this is now a dated style. Is it still cute and versatile? Sure. Why do they still sell them? Because people still buy them. But current styles have evolved into sleeker, thinner strap designs featuring lower heels that prove to be more wearable for the modern woman.
This week I've featured easy Summer looks that pack polish and feature the current modern heeled sandal. My one non negotiable for sandals that I wish more people would adopt, genuine leather. You can find great, affordable sandals that are genuine leather pretty much everywhere. Sure, the sandals at Target are a great dupe, but we've got to have some sort of standard. Genuine leather sandals will be more comfortable, look more expensive and will last longer.
This week's edit features looks that find that sweet spot between ease and elegance—light, breathable pieces that move with you and still make a statement. Think flowing silhouettes, soft natural fabrics like linen and cotton, and a palette inspired by warm sands, cool waters and sunsets. Elevated summer fashion is less about high-maintenance looks and more about smart, intentional styling.
