One Simple Swap for the Trickiest Season to Style
Hi First name / Doll!
Transitional styling. You've heard the words before, but do you know what they mean, or better yet, how to do it?
Transitional styling is the art of putting together an outfit that's perfect for the in-between seasons. A transitional look works across the shoulder seasons and adapts easily based on the weather. Here's the one thing I think about when styling a transitional look:
The 'One Swap' Rule: Is there one swap you can make on your look that instantly transforms it to the next season? Instead of trying to recreate the wheel every season, you can rely on some of your favorite looks and adapt them for the next season by making one simple swap.
For example, can you swap a sandal for a flat to take a summer look into fall? Or can you swap shorts for a pair of denim to immediately take it to the next season? Many of my clients are looking to create timeless looks built on a strong foundation that crosses all seasons. When you have a strong set of basics, those tricky in-between seasons get much easier to style.
While this week we're focused on transitional styling in a seasonal sense, transitional dressing can also refer to dressing for the life you're moving into, not just the one you're leaving behind. Whether it's a new season, a new role, or a new chapter altogether, your wardrobe should evolve alongside you, so getting dressed always feels aligned, not like starting over. If you're ready to use your wardrobe as a way to reach the next level, let's chat. I'm booking fall appointments now.
